Welcome to solace therapy

Therapy for the relationship you’re

in—with yourself and each other

Couples therapy + identity affirming therapy

for AAPI and LGBTQIA+ adults in California

You know what it's like to carry a lot—for your relationship, for your family, for the version of yourself everyone else needs you to be.

Maybe you and your partner love each other, but keep missing each other. Maybe you're doing everything right and something still feels like its missing. Or maybe you're in the middle of figuring out who you actually are—not the high achiever, not the dutiful child, not the one who has it together. Just you, in all your own beautiful authenticity.

I'm Corinna Rivera (she/her), a licensed therapist in California specializing in couples therapy and relational individual work. I support AAPI and LGBTQIA+ adults who are ready to stop performing and start connecting—with their partners, their identities, and themselves.

Warm, honest, and a little real—that's what therapy with me feels like.

Reaching out is genuinely the hardest part. I'm glad you're here.

You might be in the right place if...

You don't have to come in with a diagnosis or a clear problem. Most people arrive with a feeling that something is off, or that they're tired, or that they want more. That's enough.

"I love my partner, but we keep having the same fight, and I don't know how to stop it."

Couples who are stuck in cycles, not out of love lost, but out of patterns neither person knows how to break.

"On paper, my life looks fine. So why do I feel so empty?"

High achievers and people-pleasers who have spent so long performing that they've lost track of who they actually are.

"I feel like I live between two worlds — and I don't fully belong to either."

AAPI and second-generation adults navigating family expectations, cultural identity, and the grief of being in-between.

"I'm still figuring out who I am, and I need a space to do that without judgment."

LGBTQIA+ individuals exploring identity, coming out, navigating community, or simply wanting to be fully known.

"Something happened to me and I've never really let myself process it."

People carrying old wounds — from childhood, from relationships, from things they were never given room to process.

"I want to be close, but I keep pulling away. Or I hold on too tight and push people out."

Adults working through attachment patterns, fear of vulnerability, or relational dynamics they inherited without choosing.

You don't have to have it figured out before you call. Most people don't. You just have to be ready to start.

What I can help with

Areas of focus

Every person and every relationship is different. This is where my work tends to live—Though our sessions will always be shaped by what you actually need.

COuples therapy

  • Getting underneath the argument — understanding the cycle, not just the content. EFT and Gottman-informed.

  • When you're in the same room but not really there. Rebuilding presence, intimacy, and the sense of being known.

  • Pre-marital work, parenthood, relocation, life shifts. Strengthening your foundation before the ground changes.

  • ENM, polyamory, queer, interracial — therapy that meets you where you are, without assumptions.

  • Ending a relationship doesn't have to mean losing yourself — or your ability to show up for your children. Support for couples navigating separation with intention, working through co-parenting conflict, and building a new dynamic that works for everyone involved.

Individual therapy

  • For AAPI adults holding family expectation, generational silence, and the question of who you are outside it all.

  • Exploration, self-acceptance, community grief, family estrangement. No explaining or justifying yourself here.

  • Understanding what's underneath the exhaustion — and learning how to actually rest, not just recover enough to go again.

  • Processing what you've been carrying, at a pace that feels safe. EMDR woven into relational, attachment-informed therapy

How May I Support You?

Couples Therapy

A window sill with two lit candles in a glass holder, a mug of frothy coffee with a straw, and a small container with dark berries.
A white daisy flower with a yellow center against a black background.

For partners who love each other but keep getting stuck. Using EFT and Gottman methods, we'll get underneath the cycle — and help you actually feel close again. Inclusive of queer, interracial, ENM, and non-traditional relationships.

Individual Therapy

For adults navigating identity, relational patterns, and the pressure to perform. Whether you're untangling family expectations, exploring who you are, or healing old wounds — you don't have to hold it alone.

EMDR Therapy

A collection of dried, overlapping hydrangea petals with pale hues and visible veining.

An evidence-based approach for healing trauma, anxiety, and the beliefs that keep you stuck. Especially effective for those carrying the weight of intergenerational or cultural trauma.

I’m Corinna (she/her)! It’s great to meet you!

As a second-generation Filipina, I bring both clinical training and lived experience to every session. I know what it means to navigate the space between cultures, between who you're supposed to be and who you actually are.

My approach is warm and relational — drawing on EFT, ACT, Narrative Therapy, and EMDR depending on what you need. Every session is a space to be fully yourself.
